Ingredients

  • 200 grams of paneer, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garam masala powder
  • 1 teaspoon of red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 2 tablespoons of cream
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of freshly chopped coriander leaves

Instructions

Step 1: Preparing the Ingredients


To begin, cube the paneer and set it aside. Finely chop the onion and tomatoes.

Step 2: Cooking the Dish


In a large pan, heat the butter and add the chopped onion. Fry the onion until it is lightly browned. Now add the ginger-garlic paste and fry well. Then add the chopped tomatoes and fry them until they become soft and mushy.

Next, add the cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, and turmeric powder. Fry the spices until the oil starts to separate from the mixture. Now add the cubed paneer and mix it well with the spices.

Add some water to the pan to make a thick gravy. Let it simmer on low heat for 5 minutes. Add cream and salt to taste. Finally, add the freshly chopped coriander leaves and mix well.

Step 3: Serving the Dish


Your Paneer Butter Masala is now ready to be served. Serve hot with roti or naan.
