Instructions

Begin by combining the gluten-free flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Next, add the warm water and vegetable oil and mix until a soft dough forms.

Once the dough has been mixed, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball. Place the balls on a lightly floured baking sheet and cover with a damp cloth.

Next, heat a lightly oiled pan over medium heat. Working with one ball of dough at a time, flatten each ball into a disc and fill with a spoonful of your desired filling. Fold the edges up to seal and place the filled bao bun in the hot pan. Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown.

Turn the bao bun over and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until both sides are golden brown. Once cooked, transfer to a plate and repeat with the remaining balls of dough.

Serve your gluten-free bao buns warm with your favorite dipping sauce. Enjoy!
