• 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
• 1/4 cup dry breadcrumbs
• 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
• 1/4 cup bell pepper, finely chopped
• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

• 2 teaspoons ketchup
• 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
• 1 egg, lightly beaten
• 1/4 cup ketchup
• 1 tablespoon packed brown sugar

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, bell pepper, garlic powder, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, 2 teaspoons ketchup, thyme and egg. Mix until just combined.
3. Place mixture in a 9x5 inch (23x13 cm) loaf pan. Press down firmly.
4. In a small bowl, mix together ¼ cup ketchup, brown sugar and mustard. Spread over top of meatloaf.
5. Bake for 45 minutes or until internal temperature is 160°F (70°C).
6. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
