Ingredients

Instructions
To make this cherry filled chocolate sponge cake, start by preheating the oven to 350°F. Grease and flour two 8-inch round cake pans, line the bottom with parchment paper, and set aside.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. Set aside.
In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together the sugar, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and vegetable oil until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
