Ingredients

To prepare Rava Dosa, you will need the following ingredients: coarse semolina/sooji/rava, water, rice flour, onion, curry leaves, green chillies, cumin seeds, ginger, coriander leaves, oil and salt. For a little extra flavour, you can also add a pinch of asafoetida.

Instructions

To begin, mix the semolina, rice flour, salt and water in a bowl to make a thick batter. Let it rest for about 10 minutes. Then, add the chopped onions, curry leaves, green chillies, cumin seeds, ginger, coriander leaves, asafoetida and a little more water to the mixture. Mix it again until it forms a smooth batter.

Heat a tawa or a non-stick pan and add a tablespoon of oil to it. Spread the oil all over the pan. Now, pour a ladleful of the batter onto the pan and spread it into a thin circle. Sprinkle some oil on top of the dosa. Let it cook on medium flame until the base turns golden brown. Flip the dosa and let the other side cook until it turns golden brown.

Once it is cooked, remove the dosa from the pan and serve it hot with chutney or sambar. You can also add some butter or ghee to the dosa before serving. Enjoy!
