Beef Tom Yum Soup Recipe
Tom Yum soup is a popular dish in many Asian countries. It is a flavorful hot and sour soup that is usually made with shrimp, but can also be made with beef. In this recipe, we will be using beef as the main ingredient for a delicious and comforting Tom Yum soup.
Ingredients
For this Tom Yum soup, you will need the following ingredients:
- 500g of Beef, sliced into thin strips
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
- 2 tablespoons of red curry paste
- 2 tablespoons of lime juice
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 4 cups of chicken broth
- 1 can of coconut milk
- 2 tablespoons of lemongrass, finely chopped
- 2 kaffir lime leaves, finely chopped
- 2 red chili peppers, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons of fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons of fresh basil, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons of fresh mint, finely chopped
Instructions
To make this delicious Tom Yum soup, start by heating the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the beef strips and cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the fish sauce, red curry paste, lime juice and sugar and cook for another minute, stirring to combine.
Next, add the chicken broth and coconut milk and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes. Add the lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, chili peppers, ginger and fresh herbs and simmer for another 15 minutes.
Once the soup is done cooking, turn off the heat and let it cool slightly before serving. Garnish with extra fresh herbs if desired.
