Ingredients

  • 500g sirloin steak
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons cornflour
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 red chillies, finely chopped

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons freshly chopped coriander

Instructions

1. Slice the sirloin steak into thin strips and season with salt and pepper. Place the strips in a bowl, add the cornflour, 2 tablespoons of oil and mix together until the beef is evenly coated.

2. Heat a large frying pan on a medium heat and add the remaining oil. Add the beef strips to the pan and fry for 3-4 minutes until the beef is crispy and golden. Set aside.

3. Add the chillies, garlic and ginger to the same pan and fry for a further 1-2 minutes. Add the soy sauce, oyster sauce, tomato ketchup, white wine vinegar, caster sugar and sesame oil. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce has reduced and thickened.

4. Return the crispy beef to the pan and stir to coat in the sauce. Stir in the freshly chopped coriander and serve.
