How To Make Paneer Paratha Punjabi Style
Ingredients
For the paratha:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 tablespoons oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
For the stuffing:
- ½ cup grated paneer
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
- ½ teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
- Salt to taste
Instructions
1. To make the dough for the paratha, mix the whole wheat flour, oil, and salt together. Add water as needed and knead into a soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 20 minutes.
2. To make the stuffing, heat a pan over medium heat. Add oil and then add the cumin and coriander powder. Fry for a few seconds and then add the grated paneer. Fry for a few minutes and then add the red chili powder, garam masala, ginger paste, garlic paste, and salt. Fry for a few minutes more and then add the cilantro. Mix well and turn off the heat. Let the stuffing cool down.
3. Divide the dough into 8 equal parts. Take one part and roll it out into a circle. Place 2 tablespoons of stuffing in the center of the circle and bring the edges together to form a ball. Flatten the ball lightly and roll it out into a circle.
4. Heat a griddle over medium heat. Place the paratha on the griddle and cook for a few minutes. Flip the paratha and cook for a few minutes on the other side. Brush with some oil and cook until golden brown.
