Cornish Pasty Recipe With Mince And Puff Pastry
Ingredients
To make a delicious Cornish Pasty, you'll need these ingredients: 500g minced beef, 2 large onions, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 tablespoon of tomato paste, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons of fresh thyme leaves, 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon of paprika, 500g puff pastry, 1 egg, and salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions
To start, preheat your oven to 200°C and lightly grease a baking tray. Next, heat a large pan over a medium heat and add a tablespoon of oil. Then, add the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, parsley, and paprika and cook for another few minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Roll out the pastry to a thickness of 5mm and use a plate or bowl to cut out circles. Place a spoonful of the cooled filling onto one half of each circle and brush the edges with beaten egg. Fold the other half of the circle over to form a pasty shape and press the edges together to seal. Place the pasties on the baking tray and brush the tops with egg. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
