Jamie Oliver Recipes: Delicious Yorkshire Pudding
Yorkshire pudding is a classic British dish that’s often served with a roast dinner. It’s a savory custard-like batter that’s cooked in a hot oven and served with gravy. It’s a great way to fill up the plate without taking up too much of your time.
The recipe was first recorded in 1737, but it’s been around much longer than that. The traditional Yorkshire pudding has only four ingredients: eggs, flour, milk and fat. It’s a simple dish that can be served with a variety of different accompaniments.
Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 50g plain flour
- 150ml whole milk
- 2 tablespoons rendered beef fat, or vegetable oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, flour, milk and fat until you have a smooth batter.
- Heat a 12-hole muffin tin in the oven for 5 minutes.
- Remove the tin from the oven, and divide the batter evenly between the 12 holes.
- Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes, until the puddings are golden and crisp.
- Serve hot with gravy, or with a variety of accompaniments.
