- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped hazelnuts
- 3/4 cup Nutella
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets or line with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, cream together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Gradually stir in the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined. Stir in the hazelnuts.
Roll the dough into 1 to 1 1/2 inch balls. Place the balls 2 inches apart on the prepared cookie sheets. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until edges are lightly toasted. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Once the cookies are cool, spread the Nutella on top of half of the cookies. Top with the remaining cookies to make sandwiches.
