  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, over medium heat, cook the ground beef until it is browned. Add the onion, garlic, thyme, paprika, and pepper. Cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce. Add the beef broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, in a large pot, bring the potatoes to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes or until the potatoes are tender. Drain and mash the potatoes. Stir in the peas and corn.
  5. In a small saucepan, melt the butter. Add the flour and stir to combine. Add the milk and whisk until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat and stir in the cheese.
  6. Spread the beef mixture in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with the mashed potatoes. Pour the cheese sauce over the potatoes and spread evenly. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  7. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
