How To Make Chinese Crispy Chilli Beef

Ingredients

Making this delicious Chinese crispy chilli beef is simple and easy! You'll need the following ingredients: 600g of beef, 2 tablespoons of cornflour, 1 tablespoon of plain flour, 2 tablespoons of oil, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of Chinese five-spice powder, 2-3 tablespoons of Hoisin sauce, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil, 2 tablespoons of chilli sauce, 2 cloves of garlic, 1 small onion, 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, and 2 red chillies.

Instructions

Start by cutting the beef into thin strips. In a bowl, mix together the cornflour, plain flour, sugar, and Chinese five-spice powder. Add the beef strips and mix until they are evenly coated. Heat the oil in a wok or a large frying pan over a medium-high heat. Add the beef strips and fry for 2-3 minutes, stirring regularly until they are golden-brown and crispy. Remove from the wok and set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix together the Hoisin sauce, sesame oil, chilli sauce, soy sauce, and garlic. Heat a little oil in the same wok or frying pan and add the onion. Fry for a few minutes until it starts to soften. Add the chillies and fry for another minute. Pour in the Hoisin mixture, stir everything together, and add the beef strips. Cook for a few minutes until the beef is coated in the sauce and everything is heated through.
