Sabudana Vada or Sago Fritters is a popular Indian snack. It is usually served as a snack during Navratri or when fasting. Coconut Chutney is a very popular accompaniment for Sabudana Vada. This coconut chutney is easy to prepare and has a delicious, tangy and spicy flavor.

Ingredients



This recipe requires only a few ingredients which are easily available at home. You will need:

  • 1 cup freshly grated coconut
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1-2 green chilies, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons roasted peanuts
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions



Making the Coconut Chutney for Sabudana Vada is very easy and can be prepared in just a few minutes.

  • Heat a pan over medium heat and add the cumin seeds. Roast the cumin seeds for a few seconds until they start to change color.
  • Add the chopped green chilies and roast for a few seconds.
  • Add the grated coconut and roast for 2 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from the heat and add the roasted peanuts, lemon juice, sugar and salt. Mix everything together.
  • Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend into a smooth paste.
  • Serve the chutney with Sabudana Vada.
