Black Dal and Rajma Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup of black dal
- 1 cup of rajma
- 2 teaspoons of red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon of garam masala
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- 2-3 green chillies, chopped
- 1 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste
- Salt to taste
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1 teaspoon of kasuri methi
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
Instructions
Step 1:
Soak the black dal and rajma overnight. Drain the water and pressure cook the dal and rajma with 2 cups of water. Add some salt and turmeric powder while cooking them. Once the pressure is released, mash the dal and rajma with a spoon. Keep aside.

Add the cooked dal and rajma to the pan and mix well. Add some water if the mixture is too thick. Simmer the flame and cook for 5-7 minutes. Finally, add the kasuri methi and mix well. Switch off the flame.
Step 4:
Garnish the black dal and rajma with some fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with some roti or rice.
