A perfect combination of black dal and rajma is an amazing dish that can be served for lunch and dinner. It is a delicious, healthy, and perfect dish that can be made in no time. Ingredients

  • 1 cup of black dal
  • 1 cup of rajma
  • 2 teaspoons of red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon of coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon of garam masala
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 2-3 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon of kasuri methi
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing

Instructions

Step 1:



Soak the black dal and rajma overnight. Drain the water and pressure cook the dal and rajma with 2 cups of water. Add some salt and turmeric powder while cooking them. Once the pressure is released, mash the dal and rajma with a spoon. Keep aside.

Step 2:



Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds to it. Once they splutter, add the chopped green chillies and ginger-garlic paste. Saute for a few seconds and add the chopped tomatoes. Cook for a few minutes and add the red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook for a few more minutes until the tomatoes are cooked well.

Step 3:



Add the cooked dal and rajma to the pan and mix well. Add some water if the mixture is too thick. Simmer the flame and cook for 5-7 minutes. Finally, add the kasuri methi and mix well. Switch off the flame.

Step 4:



Garnish the black dal and rajma with some fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with some roti or rice.
