- 1 cup of all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 cup of butter, softened

Instructions
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and baking soda. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one. Beat in the vanilla extract.
Alternately add the flour mixture and the coffee/buttermilk mixture, beginning and ending with the flour. Beat until just blended.
Fold in the walnuts and chocolate chips. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
