Chicken Tikka Masala

Ingredients

Instructions

To make the Chicken Tikka Masala, start by combining the chicken cubes with the yogurt, turmeric, cumin, coriander, garam masala, ginger and paprika in a large bowl. Mix until the chicken is evenly coated, then cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Next, heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic, ginger and cayenne pepper and cook for 1 minute more. Add the tomato sauce and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.

Add the marinated chicken and any remaining marinade to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through, about 10 minutes. Add the cream and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce is thickened, about 10 minutes.

Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the cilantro. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Serve the Chicken Tikka Masala over cooked basmati rice or with naan.
