Tasty Chicken Gammon And Leek Pie

For this Chicken Gammon and Leek Pie, you will need the following ingredients:
- 250g gammon
- 2 chicken breasts
- 2 leeks
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 200ml double cream
- 200g puff pastry
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Preparing the Gammon and Chicken
Start by cutting the gammon and chicken into small cubes, about 2cm in size. Heat some oil in a frying pan and fry the gammon and chicken cubes until they are golden brown. Once cooked, set aside and leave to cool.
Step 2: Preparing the Leeks and Garlic
Clean and slice the leeks into thin slices. In a separate pan, heat some oil and fry the leeks until they are softened. Then add the garlic and fry for a further minute.
Step 3: Making the Sauce
Now it’s time to make the sauce. Add the double cream to the pan with the leeks and garlic and simmer for 5 minutes until the sauce has thickened. Once the sauce is ready, add the gammon and chicken cubes and season with salt and pepper.
Step 4: Assembling the Pie
Once the filling is ready, it’s time to assemble the pie. Grease an ovenproof dish and line the bottom with the puff pastry. Pour the filling into the dish and top with another layer of puff pastry. Brush the top of the pastry with the egg wash and cut a few vents into the top.
Step 5: Baking
Bake the pie in a preheated oven at 180°C for 40 minutes. Once the pastry is golden and crispy, the pie is ready to serve. Enjoy!
