Ingredients

To make this delicious dish, you need the following ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of roasted peanuts, crushed

Instructions

To begin, you need to soak the urad dal in water for about 4-5 hours. Once the dal has been soaked, drain the water and grind the dal into a thick paste. Add some salt and baking soda to the dal paste and mix it well. Heat some oil in a pan and drop spoonfuls of the dal paste into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crisp. Once done, remove the vadas from the pan and drain the excess oil on a paper towel. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix together the tamarind paste, jaggery, red chilli powder, chaat masala, coriander powder, cumin powder and salt. Heat some oil in a pan and add the prepared mixture. Fry the mixture until it is fragrant and the oil starts to separate. Remove from heat and set aside.

In a large bowl, mix together the curd, roasted peanuts, jeera powder and salt. Add the fried vadas to the bowl and mix everything together. Add the prepared chutney and mix it again. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
