Delicious Sausage and Pepper Casserole Slow Cooker

Ingredients

This delicious, slow-cooked Sausage and Pepper Casserole is sure to become a family favorite. It requires very few ingredients, and the slow cooker does all the work. You will need:

  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 onion, diced

  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup of chicken broth

Instructions

This Sausage and Pepper Casserole is so simple to make. Begin by browning the sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once cooked, drain and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté the bell peppers, onion, and garlic until softened. Add the diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, and basil, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Next, add the cooked sausage and the sautéed vegetables to the slow cooker. Pour the chicken broth overtop and stir to combine. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the vegetables are cooked through and the sausage is cooked through.

When the casserole is cooked through, serve over rice or mashed potatoes. Enjoy!
