Better Butter Chicken Instant Pot
We all love butter chicken and it’s one of the most popular dishes in Indian cuisine. But, it takes a lot of time to make this delicious dish, making it a rare treat. But now, you can make it quickly and easily with your Instant Pot.
Ingredients
To make this delicious butter chicken, you will need:
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons of tomato paste
- 1 teaspoon of garam masala
- 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon of ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 cups of chicken broth
- 1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cubed
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
Instructions
1. Saute the onion and garlic
Start by setting your Instant Pot to the saute setting. Add the olive oil and heat it up. Once it’s hot, add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is softened and the garlic is fragrant.
2. Add the spices
Now, add the ginger, tomato paste, garam masala, cumin, coriander, cayenne pepper, paprika, and salt. Stir everything together and cook until the spices are fragrant, about 1 minute.
3. Add the butter and broth
Turn off the saute setting and add the butter and chicken broth. Stir everything together and add the chicken breasts. Place the lid on the Instant Pot and set it to the “pressure cook” setting. Cook for 8 minutes.
4. Release the pressure
Once the 8 minutes are up, let the pressure naturally release. This will take about 10 minutes. Once the pressure has released, open the lid and add the heavy cream. Stir everything together and let it simmer for a few minutes until the sauce has thickened.
5. Serve
Your butter chicken is now ready to serve. Serve it with rice or naan bread and enjoy!
