Ingredients



• 1 cup chana dal (split Bengal gram)
• 1 cup rice
• 2 teaspoons sugar

• 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

• 1 teaspoon green chili paste
• 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
• 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander
• Salt to taste

Instructions



1. Soak the chana dal and rice in water for at least two hours.
2. Drain the water from the soaked dal and rice and grind it into a paste.
3. Add the sugar and salt to the paste and mix it well.
4. Heat the oil in a pan.
5. Add the cumin seeds and asafoetida to the hot oil and fry for a few seconds.
6. Add the ginger and green chili paste to the pan and fry for a few more seconds.
7. Add the paste to the pan and mix it well.
8. Cook the mixture on a low heat for 5-7 minutes.
9. Grease a dhokla plate with oil and pour the mixture into it.
10. Sprinkle the sesame seeds and chopped coriander on top.
11. Place the plate in a steamer and steam for about 10 minutes.
12. Once done, turn off the flame and allow the dhokla to cool before serving.
