Individual Steak And Ale Pie With Puff Pastry
Ingredients
To make this delicious individual steak and ale pie, you will need: 500g steak, 1 large onion, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of flour, 250ml beef stock, 250ml of ale, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, 2 bay leaves, 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme (optional), 2 tablespoons of butter, 1 sheet of puff pastry and 1 egg.
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4.
2. Cut the steak into small cubes and season with salt and pepper.

4. Add the steak cubes to the pan and cook for a few minutes until lightly browned.

9. Divide the mixture between 4 individual pie dishes.
10. Cut the puff pastry into 4 circles slightly larger than the diameter of the dishes.
11. Place the pastry circles on top of the individual pies and crimp the edges with a fork.
12. Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush the pastry with the egg wash.
13. Bake for 25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
14. Serve hot with steamed vegetables of your choice.
