Instructions
To make this Harry Potter 11th birthday cake, start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and greasing a 9-inch round cake pan. Next, prepare the cake mix according to the instructions on the box and pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Let the cake cool completely before frosting it.
In a medium bowl, combine the buttercream frosting, melted butter, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, cardamom, golden syrup, brown sugar, orange zest, orange juice and vanilla extract. Stir until all of the ingredients are fully incorporated. Divide the mixture into four smaller bowls and add a few drops of gel food coloring to each one, making sure to mix thoroughly. You should have one yellow bowl, one green bowl, one red bowl and one blue bowl.
In a separate bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and heavy cream. Melt the mixture in the microwave for about 30 seconds, stirring every 10 seconds. Once the mixture is melted and smooth, add it to the blue frosting bowl and mix until combined.
To assemble the cake, spread the yellow frosting on the top and sides of the cake. Sprinkle the chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, graham cracker crumbs and shredded coconut on top of the cake. Finally, drizzle the melted white chocolate mixture over the top of the cake and decorate with candies and sprinkles.
Let the cake cool completely before serving. Enjoy!
