  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 sheet ready-made puff pastry

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Add steak cubes and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add diced onion and garlic and cook for another 3 minutes.
  4. Add Guinness or ale, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, oregano, black pepper, and salt. Stir to combine.
  5. Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and stir to combine. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. Transfer the steak and ale mixture to a greased 9-inch pie dish.
  7. Lay the puff pastry over the top and crimp the edges with a fork.
  8. Brush the top of the pastry with egg wash (1 egg mixed with 1 tablespoon of milk).
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown.
  10. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
