Dahi Vada and Dahi Bhalla - A Delicious Indian Treat
Ingredients
For the Dahi Vada you will need: 1 cup of urad dal, 1 teaspoon of fennel seeds, 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, 1 teaspoon of coriander powder, 1 teaspoon of red chili powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, 2-4 tablespoons of oil for frying, and 4 cups of yogurt. Instructions
For the Dahi Vada: Soak the urad dal in water for 2-3 hours. Then, grind it into a paste in a blender or food processor. Add the fennel, cumin, coriander, chili powder, salt, and baking soda and mix until thoroughly combined. Make small balls from the mixture and then flatten them into patties. Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat and then fry the patties until golden brown. Remove the patties from the oil and drain them on a paper towel. Then, place the patties in a bowl and pour the yogurt over them. Let the patties soak in the yogurt for 1-2 hours before serving.
