Ingredients

Making a delicious, crispy Rava Dosa requires a few simple ingredients. The main ingredients are Rava (semolina), rice flour, black gram dal, cumin seeds, ginger, green chillies, onion, curry leaves, and oil. To begin, mix one cup of Rava, one cup of rice flour, one-fourth cup of black gram dal, one teaspoon of cumin seeds, one teaspoon of grated ginger, two finely chopped green chillies, one finely chopped onion, and a handful of curry leaves in a bowl. Mix the ingredients well to form a thick batter.

Instructions

Once the batter is ready, add two teaspoons of salt and mix it into the batter. If the batter is too thick, add one-fourth cup of water to make it the right consistency. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add one teaspoon of oil. Spread the oil evenly over the pan. Add one ladle of the batter in the center of the pan and spread it in a circular motion. Sprinkle some oil around the edges to make it crispier.

Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for a few minutes. Once the edges start to turn golden brown, flip the Dosa and let it cook for another few minutes. Once both sides are golden brown, remove the Dosa from the pan and place it on a plate. Serve the Dosa with coconut chutney and sambar.

You can also add ghee while cooking the Dosa to make it crispier and more flavorful. If you want to make a spicy version of this Dosa, you can add more green chillies to the batter and adjust the amount of salt accordingly.
