Street Style Bread Pakora Recipe
Bread Pakora is a delicious and crunchy snack that is popular in India. It is made from fried slices of bread filled with a spicy filling. It is a great snack for any occasion, from a party at home to a quick snack on the go.
Ingredients
For the filling:
- 2 potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 2 tablespoons of finely chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons of finely chopped coriander leaves
- 1 teaspoon of cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon of garam masala
- 1 teaspoon of red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons of oil
For the pakora:
- 4 slices of white bread
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- ¼ cup of gram flour
- 2 teaspoons of red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon of cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions
1. To prepare the filling, heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until it turns golden brown.
2. Add the mashed potatoes, coriander leaves, cumin powder, garam masala, red chilli powder and salt. Mix well and cook for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
3. To prepare the pakora, mix the gram flour, red chilli powder, cumin powder and salt in a bowl. Add enough water to make a thick batter.
4. Heat the oil for frying in a deep pan over medium heat.
5. Take a slice of bread and spread the potato filling on one side. Cover with another slice of bread and press lightly.
6. Dip the sandwich in the batter and coat it evenly.
7. Gently slide the sandwich into the hot oil. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
8. Remove from the oil and drain on a paper towel.
9. Serve hot with green chutney or ketchup.
