Delicious and Crispy Bread Pakoras Recipe by Sanjeev Kapoor
Craving for something spiced and crunchy? Then nothing can be better than Sanjeev Kapoor's Bread Pakoras. Bread pakoras are a popular Indian snack, made up of bread, potatoes, and spices. This crispy snack is extremely easy to make and requires only a few basic ingredients.
Ingredients
- 4 Slices of Bread
- 1 Potato (boiled and mashed)
- 1 Onion (finely chopped)
- 1/2 teaspoon of Red Chilli Powder
- 1 teaspoon of Coriander Powder
- 1 teaspoon of Garam Masala Powder
- 1/4 cup of Fresh Coriander Leaves (chopped)
- Salt (as per taste)
- Oil (for deep frying)
Instructions
To make the bread pakoras, take a large bowl and add the mashed potatoes, chopped onion, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, chopped coriander leaves and salt. Mix them all together until everything is well combined.
Now take one slice of bread and place it on a flat surface. Spread some potato mixture on the bread. Add a few more slices of bread and spread some potato mixture between them. Continue this until all the slices of bread are used up. Make sure that the potato mixture is evenly spread on all the slices of bread.
Now heat the oil in a deep frying pan. When the oil is hot enough, carefully slide the bread pakoras in the oil and deep fry them till they turn golden brown in color. Remove from the pan and keep aside on a paper towel to absorb the excess oil.
Serve the crispy and delicious bread pakoras with green chutney or tomato ketchup.

Bread pakoras are a delicious snack, but they are not very nutritious. Each pakora contains approximately 150 calories, 6 grams of fat, 20 grams of carbohydrates and 3 grams of protein.
They contain a good amount of Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Potassium, Magnesium and Iron. However, they are high in sodium and saturated fat, so it is best to eat them in moderation.
