Ingredients:

This delicious Dahi Vada recipe requires the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup moong dal (split yellow mung beans)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon amchur powder

  • 1 pinch asafoetida
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 dry red chilies
  • 2 tablespoons roasted peanuts
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 2 tablespoons chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 4 tablespoons tamarind chutney
  • 2 tablespoons green chutney

Instructions:

Follow these simple steps to make this tasty Dahi Vada recipe:

  1. Soak the moong dal in water for at least 2 hours.
  2. Drain the water and grind the moong dal into a coarse paste.
  3. Add the cumin seeds, ginger paste, salt, vegetable oil, green chili paste, coriander powder, garam masala, amchur powder, and fresh coriander leaves to the paste.
  4. Mix the ingredients together and knead the mixture into a dough.
  5. Take a portion of the dough and shape it into a round vada.
  6. Heat oil in a deep fryer or skillet and gently drop the vada into the hot oil.
  7. Fry the vada until it turns golden brown, then remove it from the oil and drain it on a paper towel.
  8. Repeat steps 5 to 7 for the remaining dough.
  9. In a bowl, mix together the curd, sugar, red chili powder, asafoetida, and mustard seeds.
  10. Heat oil in a pan and add the dry red chilies and roasted peanuts.
  11. Fry the ingredients for a few minutes, then add the cumin powder, chopped coriander leaves, and chaat masala.
  12. Add the fried vada to the pan and mix it with the other ingredients.
  13. Add the curd mixture to the pan and mix everything together.
  14. Garnish the Dahi Vada with tamarind chutney and green chutney.
  15. Serve the Dahi Vada hot.
