Kimchi Fried Rice Recipe Hawaii
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked white or brown rice
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup kimchi, chopped
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/4 cup carrots, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped
- 1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the kimchi, onion, carrots, garlic, and ginger and cook for 5 minutes, stirring often. Add the cooked rice and stir to combine. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring often, until the rice is heated through.
Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper and stir to combine. Cook for another 3-4 minutes, stirring often, until the rice is lightly browned. Remove from the heat and stir in the green onions and sesame seeds, if using.
Serve warm with additional kimchi, green onions, and sesame seeds, if desired.
