    • In a bowl, add 1 cup split black gram and 1/4 teaspoon baking soda. Mix it together and soak it in enough water for 4-5 hours.
    • Once the black gram is soaked, drain the water and grind it into a smooth paste.
    • Now add 2 tablespoons of chopped coriander leaves, 1 teaspoon cumin seeds, 2 green chillies, 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste, salt to taste and mix it together.
    • Heat oil in a deep fryer and make small balls with the mixture and drop it into the hot oil.
    • Deep fry the vadas until they turn golden brown in colour. Drain the excess oil and keep aside.
    • In a bowl take 3 cups of curd/yogurt and add 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder and salt to taste. Mix it together.
    • Soak the fried vadas in the curd mixture for 10-15 minutes.
    • Garnish with coriander leaves, cumin powder and red chilli powder.
    • Serve the Dahi Vadas cold.
