Here are the things you need: 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 2 eggs, 1/2 cup of buttermilk, 1/4 cup of melted butter, 1 cup of grated cheese and 1/2 cup of diced ham. You can also add some herbs and spices to give it an extra kick. For this recipe we’ll use 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder and 1/4 teaspoon of dried oregano.
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a 12-cup muffin tin with butter or non-stick cooking spray. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat together the eggs, buttermilk, and melted butter. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the cheese and ham. Divide the batter among the muffin cups and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool in the pan for 5 minutes before serving.
