Ingredients
For this recipe you will need:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup fresh blueberries
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar for sprinkling
Instructions
Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silpat and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut in the butter and cream cheese with a pastry blender or two forks until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add in the milk and vanilla and stir until a soft dough forms. Fold in the blueberries.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead gently a few times just until the dough comes together. Pat the dough into a circle that is about 1-inch thick and cut into 8 wedges. Place the scones on the prepared baking sheet and sprinkle with the remaining tablespoon of sugar.
Bake for 22-25 minutes, or until the scones are golden brown. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Tips and Tricks
For the best results, it’s important to use cold butter and cream cheese in this recipe. This will help create a light and flaky texture in the scones. If you find that your dough is too sticky, you can always add a bit more flour until it reaches the desired consistency.
You can also customize this recipe with your favorite add-ins. Try substituting the blueberries with other seasonal fruits such as strawberries, blackberries or raspberries. You can also add in nuts, chocolate chips or spices for an extra flavor twist.
For a richer flavor, you can substitute half of the cream cheese with mascarpone. You can also use Greek yogurt as a healthier alternative to cream cheese.
No matter how you choose to customize this recipe, you’re sure to end up with a delicious batch of blueberry cream cheese scones. Enjoy!
