  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, brown sugar, dried fruit, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.

3. In a separate bowl, combine melted butter, eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

4. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
