Instructions

Start by preheating your oven to 180°C (or 350°F).
Roll out your sheet of shortcrust pastry and place it in an 8-inch tart tin.
Peel and thinly slice the apples, then lay them in the tart, overlapping slightly. Sprinkle the sugar and dot the butter or margarine over the top.
Bake for about 30 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and the apples are soft. Allow to cool before serving.
