Dahi Vada Recipe Tarla Dalal
Ingredients
- 1 cup Urad Dal (split black lentils)
- 2 Green Chillies, finely chopped
- 2 tsp Ginger-Green Chilli Paste
- 2 tsp Oil
- 2 tsp Chaat Masala
- 3 cups Curd
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tbsp Coriander (Dhania) leaves, freshly chopped
- Salt to taste
- Oil for deep-frying
- 2 tbsp Roasted Peanuts, coarsely crushed
- 2 tbsp Sev
Instructions
1. Soak the Urad Dal in enough water for 4 hours. Drain the water and grind the Dal to a thick paste using very little water.
2. Add the green chillies, ginger-green chilli paste, oil, cumin seeds and chaat masala to the paste and mix well.
3. Heat the oil in a kadhai. Take small portions of the paste and drop them into the hot oil. Fry the vadas until golden brown. Drain and set aside.
4. In a bowl, whisk the curd until smooth and creamy. Add the sugar and salt, and mix well.
5. Put the fried vadas in a serving dish. Pour the curd mixture over the vadas and garnish with coriander leaves, peanuts and sev.
6. Serve the Dahi Vada immediately or chill in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving.
